DATA-ACQUISITION CHALLENGES AT THE LARGE HADRON COLLIDER AT CERN

The operation of the physics experiments at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN involve significant engineering challenges. The presentation will focus in particular on the data-acquisition aspects and the associated heterogeneous distributed compute systems. Using the ATLAS experiment as main case study, the current implementation and the future upgrades will be discussed and analysed.
